The Ent Credit Union (Ent) board of directors is recruiting a board member with independent thinking and diverse perspectives who understands the membership and the communities served and has strong financial literacy, relevant operational and professional expertise, teamwork and consensus building experience, and passion for continuous learning. We seek a new board member who supports an environment where forward thinking is the norm and who recognizes and appreciates the contributions of other board members. Our growth strategies require challenging the status quo in constructive partnerships with other board members and the chief executive officer (CEO) to support effective decision-making.
The current board has strong talent in executive and community leadership, financial services, accounting and finance, and business continuity practices. As we continue to grow, we have an appreciation for the impact of cybersecurity, big data, and technology as well as the need for understanding the regulatory environment and enterprise risk management. We welcome diverse expertise, thinking, and experiences.
The ideal board member has a passion for the financial safety and soundness of the membership. As a potential candidate, you may be early in your career and benefit from the training and development offered by the Ent board, or you might be established and have a network of influence. What is important is the value you contribute to boardroom discussions and decision-making.
As an active board member, you will be mentored in an onboarding process to:
- Understand the credit union’s strategic vision and targets
- Participate in deciding the strategic direction of the organization
- Proactively participate in effective board governance and leadership
- Learn about the products and services and how they benefit members
- Gain knowledge of the credit union’s financials and overall performance
The average board member contributes a minimum of 150 hours a year in board and committee meetings and leadership conferences. You will have opportunities to participate in strategic planning sessions, community events, conferences, and board training seminars. Our current membership is in Aurora, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, Denver, Firestone, Fountain, Monument, Peterson AFB, Peyton, Pueblo, Rye, and Woodland Park.
