We are looking for additional general Trustees to bolster our team, and also potential Trustees with specific skills to offer Lister Steps, a childcare Charity in Tuebrook, Liverpool, with an exciting future.

 

What will you be doing?

Our general Trustees should be motivated, enthusiastic and committed to delivering and supporting an organisation that provides the best for its children and wider community.

The specific skill sets that we are also looking for are in the fields of: 

* Finance (to assist and oversee the Finance Manager on behalf of the Board) - applicants should ideally have a finance qualification e.g. AAT, CIMA etc. 

* Event Management - to organise both publicity and fundraising events as we expand and move forward.

Each of these will help with the management of the current activities and the development and fulfilment of our future vision. 

The only critical time commitments for our Trustees is attendance at the monthly Board meeting, which is normally held on the third Monday or Tuesday of the month at around 5.00pm after normal working hours. Further time is really up to the Trustee and what time they can spare, and also what responsibilities they can carry out on behalf of the Board. Trustees will also need to go through Disclosure and Barring Service clearance and also register with Ofsted,

Lister Steps is a Charity in Tuebrook, Liverpool that offers a variety of affordable and flexible childcare solutions for children aged 0 to 14 years old. It provides a safe and fun environment where children are able to play, learn and socialise under the supervision of highly trained and experienced staff. Lister Steps aim to support parents and families whatever their situation and all our services are structured with the needs of parents in mind. 

Lister Steps is entering an exciting period of development. This will enable relocation into the fabulous Grade II West Derby Carnegie Library in 2020, following an extensive renovation project.

What difference will you make?

Following a successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Lister Steps is entering an exciting period of development. This will enable relocation into the fabulous Grade II West Derby Carnegie Library in 2020, following an extensive renovation project. Not only will Lister Steps be able to continue delivering high quality childcare from this iconic building but this development will enable us to extend the range of support we offer our community and create a hub of activities.

What will be on offer in this exciting new phase:

Ø Childcare- day nursery, preschool, playgroup. Breakfast club, after school club, holiday play scheme.

Ø Apprenticeship scheme for heritage and traditional craft and construction skills
